When asked in January if he was planning to attend King Charles’ coronation, Prince Harry revealed he was “keeping the door open”. “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then,” he told British journalist Tom Bradby while promoting his tell-all memoir, Spare.
The ongoing speculation over whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be present for the historic event was finally put to rest on April 12. “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May,” an official statement read. “The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
The revelation that Harry, 38, would be jetting off across the pond by himself came as a shock to many, especially given his wife had previously said they do everything in unison. “That’s me and Harry. We’re like salt and pepper,” Meghan told The Cut last August. “We always move together.”
